Money? I think everyone have their own way to save money. But, did your saving plan work on you? If it does, below is some of the way that might help you save even more! Lets digest does tips one by one, maybe in 1 year time you will improve your saving skills!
1. Make It Automatic
Set up a specific percentage of your salary to be automatically deposited into a high- interest online savings account so you're less likely to touch it. It's a fool- proof way to make sure your savings stay on track and continue to build over the year.
Alyssa Say: Well, this tips is very useful. I prefer setting my own goals every month and keep it by myself (In the bank, of course). I bank in my own money every month in the bank that i created especially for saving. But remember, you have to be disciplined to do this.
2. Buy "NOTHING NEW" Month
It's exactly what the name says. Give it a go, and depending on your current shopping habits, this has the potential to save you around RM1,000 a month.
Alyssa Say: NOTHING NEW? Well, this is super hard for me. I haven't try it yet. But by imagining it, I think i will save up to RM500 a month since I'm not a shopaholic. For me, nothing new means no trying any new products or no more buying new outfit for that particular month. Stick on the thing that you need, not the thing that you want.
Pump Tyres? What does it have to do with saving money? Did you know that ensuring your tyres are properly inflated helps with petrol mileage? If they are deflated, you can actually lose up to five percent in fuel.
Alyssa Say: I have heard about it before. But i have no idea how to pump my own car tyres. But people said its easier than doing the bicycle tyres. Anyway, maybe that answer my question why my fiancee always make sure our car tyres is inflated properly. Good Job Mr Yong!
4. Avoid Driving In Peak Hour
Driving at the busiest ties of the day (on your way to work and o your way home) can result in you using a quarter of your tank for each hour that you spend in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Alyssa Say: This is true. I agree with this tips 101%. No doubt!
5. Turn Off The Plug
Switch off electrical items at the power points when you're not using them. "You can save up to RM400 a year by doing this, maybe more."
Alyssa Say: This thing should be applied. Especially in using air- conditioning. I know people who always turn on their air- conditioning in the room just to keep the room extra chilly. I always do that in a hotel room. But, no matter where you are, I don't think its necessary to do that. Because it will surely harm the mother nature. Try not to do that as a habit, it will not only save the mother nature. It will also help you in saving lots of money!! $$$$$
6. Shop To A List
Shop to a list, buy only what you need, use everything you have and be creative with your leftovers, like making them into lunch. Also, stick your receipt up on the fridge as a reminder to eat what you bought, and once you finished a food item, cross t off.
Alyssa Say: From all the 6 tips above. I think this is the most useful tips here. Especially the tips where they ask you to stick the receipt on your fridge to remind you things that you already bought. Forgetting things that i already bought always happen to me, and once i found out that i have those things. It is already too late since it already reach their expiry date. Anddd.. YES. It's a waste of money.
Well, I hope those tips above do help you making your saving even better. Trust me, just by applying those simple tips above, IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENT. Happy Trying!
